The North Point Community Church Message Archive: Complete Guide

North Point publishes messages, not sermons, and the word choice tells you how the archive is built. Andy Stanley founded the church in Alpharetta, Georgia in 1995 and has organised nearly three decades of teaching into named, self-contained series aimed at people who are unsure whether they believe any of it. This guide covers what the North Point archive holds, where to watch it free, and how it relates to the In Touch archive built around his father's preaching.

What Is the North Point Community Church Message Archive?

Andy Stanley started North Point Community Church in 1995, having previously served on staff at First Baptist Church Atlanta under his father, Charles Stanley. The two ministries could hardly be more different in shape. In Touch is a broadcast operation built on a single preacher's weekly exposition; North Point is a multi-campus church whose teaching is packaged in short, titled series with visual design, and distributed primarily as video. Our In Touch Ministries archive page covers the other side of that family story.

North Point Ministries now includes several campuses in metro Atlanta and a wide network of partner churches that use its resources. Stanley's teaching is deliberately aimed at the sceptic and the returning church-leaver, which makes the archive read less like a commentary and more like a long sequence of arguments. Some of his series have generated significant public debate within evangelicalism, which is part of why the archive is so heavily searched.

What's Inside the Archive

Everything is filed by series. A North Point series is typically a handful of messages under one title, designed to be watched in order and to make sense to someone who joined at part one.

  • Three decades of message series from North Point Community Church, filed by series title rather than by date
  • Video as the primary format, with audio and podcast versions of most messages
  • Your Move with Andy Stanley, the broadcast and podcast edit of the teaching
  • Leadership content, including Stanley's long-running leadership podcast for pastors and organisational leaders
  • Resources produced for partner churches that use North Point material in their own services

How to Access the North Point Community Church Archive

North Point publishes its messages free to watch and stream. The archive is primarily video and audio; check the church's site for which series carry written notes or discussion guides.

Want a Transcript of a Sermon from This Archive?

This is a video-first archive, which is convenient to watch and awkward to study. Quoting a message precisely, or comparing what was said across a five-part series, is much easier from text.

Upload a recording you have rights to use to our free transcription tool and you will get searchable, time-stamped text in minutes. North Point Ministries holds the rights to the messages, so keep personal-study transcripts personal.

For contrast with a very different archive from the same family, see our In Touch Ministries page and the Charles Stanley famous sermons profile.

How North Point Community Church's Approach Can Inspire Your Church's Archive

North Point solved a problem most church archives never address: how a stranger decides which of nine hundred files to open first.

1.The series is the unit, not the Sunday

Filing by titled series gives a newcomer an obvious entry point and gives you a page worth linking to. A chronological list of dates gives neither.

2.Design for the person who arrived at part three

North Point messages are built to stand alone inside a series. That discipline is what makes an archive usable by people who did not attend the previous week.

3.Publish leadership content on its own feed

Separating the leadership podcast from the Sunday archive keeps each audience from wading through the other's material. One collection, two doors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Andy Stanley sermons free?

Yes. North Point publishes its messages free to watch and stream on northpoint.org and on its video channels, and the Your Move podcast is free. The church sells some study resources, and the messages remain under North Point Ministries' copyright.

Is Andy Stanley related to Charles Stanley?

Yes. Andy Stanley is the son of Charles Stanley, the longtime pastor of First Baptist Church Atlanta and founder of In Touch Ministries. Andy served on staff at First Baptist Atlanta before starting North Point Community Church in 1995. The two ministries are entirely separate organisations with very different preaching styles.

What church does Andy Stanley pastor?

North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, which he founded in 1995. It is the flagship congregation of North Point Ministries, which operates several campuses in metro Atlanta.

How long are North Point sermons?

Typically in the region of thirty to forty minutes, though this varies by series and by campus. Because messages are designed as parts of a titled series, watching two or three in order is usually the intended experience rather than sampling one at random.

Why did Andy Stanley leave his father's church?

He left the staff of First Baptist Church Atlanta in the early 1990s during a period of significant strain in the church and in the family, and started North Point Community Church in 1995. Both men have spoken publicly about the difficulty of that period and about their later reconciliation. Their own accounts are the reliable source here; secondhand versions vary considerably.

Are North Point message transcripts available?

The archive is primarily video and audio. Some series carry discussion guides or notes, but there is no complete free transcript library. For a message you legitimately have access to, transcription produces searchable text for personal study.

Your church is building an archive too

Every Sunday recording is a future archive entry. Transcribe it in about five minutes, publish it as searchable text, and your congregation's preaching starts compounding the way these collections did.
