Built for the church teams nobody's building for
Sermon Transcription exists because church communications teams kept getting handed enterprise tools at enterprise prices, or duct-tape free tools that hallucinated half the message. We wanted something that worked on a 35-minute expository sermon, named the right pastor, recognized ‘Habakkuk’, and cost less than a Sunday-morning coffee run.
What we believe
- The sermon shouldn't die at the doors. Every preached message should be searchable, shareable, captioned, and translatable — by Tuesday morning at the latest.
- Accessibility isn't an upsell. Captions are baseline, not premium.
- Honest pricing beats slick marketing. One flat plan that covers our costs plus a thin margin. No tier games, no 'contact sales'.
- Church tech should respect church time. If a volunteer can't finish the workflow before the coffee gets cold, we built it wrong.
How our pricing actually works
ElevenLabs charges about $0.22 an hour for Scribe v2 transcription, and the writing models cost a few cents a sermon. At $19/month for unlimited sermons, a church publishing weekly pays about $4.40 a sermon against roughly $0.25 of compute — the margin funds the sermon-specific tuning, the Sermon Pack, and support, just enough to keep the lights on and the servers running. There are no hidden fees, no minimum spends, no signup discounts that quietly disappear at month two.
We don't require a credit card to start. Your first sermon is free — up to 90 minutes of transcript. If we can't convince you with one full sermon, we don't deserve your $19.
The team
Sermon Transcription was built and is maintained by a small team of software engineers who have spent years working with churches, pastors, and ministry organizations on production-grade audio pipelines. We've worked behind the scenes on podcast transcription stacks, broadcast captioning workflows, and multilingual church livestreams.
We test every release on real sermon audio — expository, narrative, charismatic, liturgical — before shipping. We don't move fast and break ministries.
Privacy & data handling
- Audio uploaded is processed once and deleted within 24 hours of completion.
- Transcripts are retained on your account until you delete them.
- We don't use your sermon audio to train AI models.
- We never sell or share your transcripts with third parties.
- OpenAI and ElevenLabs (our underlying providers) operate under their own no-training-by-default API terms.
