What we collect

When you use Sermon Transcription, we collect:

  • Email address: to deliver your transcript, open your sermon library, and gate the free 90-minute first sermon.
  • Audio you upload: sent to our transcription engines (ElevenLabs first, then OpenAI and Google as failover), then deleted from our processing servers after the transcript is done.
  • Transcript output: emailed to you and kept in your sermon library while your account is active.
  • Standard analytics — page views, referrer, browser, country (anonymized).

What we do with it

Audio is processed solely to generate your transcript and is deleted once the transcript is done. We never train models on your audio or transcripts. We do not sell your data. Transcripts are shared only with the processors listed below, and only to produce your transcript, Sermon Pack and tools. Email addresses are used to deliver transcripts and (with your opt-in) occasional product updates.

Third parties

Sermon Transcription uses these processors:

  • ElevenLabs — primary transcription engine. Training on our audio is switched off in our account (opted out 2026-09-11).
  • OpenAI — fallback transcription (Whisper) and Sermon Pack writing. OpenAI does not use API inputs to train its models.
  • Google (Gemini) — fallback transcription and writing. Google does not use paid API inputs to train its models.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — fallback writing. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models.
  • Resend — transactional email and the weekly sermon-ideas email.
  • Stripe — payments. Card details go to Stripe, never to us.
  • PostHog — product analytics (anonymized page views and events).
  • Vercel — application hosting and temporary file storage.

Your rights

You can request deletion of your email and any associated free-tier tokens by emailing hello@sermon-transcription.com. We will respond within 7 business days. For EU users, this includes GDPR rights to access, rectification, erasure, and portability.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies for analytics and session state. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Sermon Transcription is intended for adults and church staff. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

When this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and email subscribers about substantive changes.
