The Harvest Christian Fellowship Sermon Archive: Complete Guide

Greg Laurie is one of the few American preachers whose archive contains two genuinely different bodies of work. There is the weekly, verse-by-verse teaching he has given at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California since 1972, and there is the stadium evangelism of the Harvest Crusades, which began in 1990 and have filled arenas ever since. This guide covers what the Harvest archive holds, where to watch and listen for free, and what a ministry built out of the Jesus Movement can teach a church about keeping its own record.

What Is the Harvest Christian Fellowship Sermon Archive?

Harvest Christian Fellowship began in 1972 as a small Bible study led by Laurie, then a very young convert of the Jesus Movement, under the oversight of Chuck Smith and the Calvary Chapel movement. It grew into one of the largest churches in the United States, still based in Riverside with additional campuses, and Laurie has remained its pastor throughout. Our Calvary Chapel sermon archive page covers the wider movement he came out of.

Two extensions carry the preaching beyond Sunday. Harvest Crusades, launched in 1990 at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Anaheim, brought large-scale evangelistic events back into stadiums and have since been held across the country and streamed worldwide. A New Beginning is the ministry's radio and podcast programme, which packages Laurie's teaching for daily broadcast. The 2023 film Jesus Revolution, which dramatises the early years of the Jesus Movement and Laurie's own conversion, sent a fresh wave of listeners to the older material.

What's Inside the Archive

The archive splits cleanly by purpose. Sunday teaching is expository and sequential; crusade preaching is evangelistic and self-contained. Both are published, and knowing which one you want is the fastest way to find something in it.

  • Five decades of weekly teaching from Harvest Christian Fellowship, largely book-by-book through scripture
  • Harvest Crusade messages from 1990 onward, recorded in stadiums and arenas and streamed in recent years
  • A New Beginning radio and podcast episodes, the daily broadcast edit of the pulpit teaching
  • Topical series aimed at seekers and new believers, plus prophecy and end-times series that Laurie returns to often
  • Devotional writing, books and study notes produced alongside the preaching

How to Access the Harvest Christian Fellowship Archive

Want a Transcript of a Sermon from This Archive?

Harvest's public archive is primarily audio and video rather than text, so if you want to quote a line accurately or study a message closely, you will usually need a transcript of your own. Verify text availability on harvest.org before assuming a message is only audio; the ministry does publish written material for some series.

Upload a recording you have rights to use to our free transcription tool and you will get searchable, time-stamped text in minutes. Keep transcripts of copyrighted preaching for personal study: Harvest Ministries holds the rights to Laurie's messages.

How Harvest Christian Fellowship's Approach Can Inspire Your Church's Archive

Harvest is a useful case study because it has kept two very different kinds of recording for fifty years without letting either one swamp the other.

1.Separate your teaching archive from your events

Sunday exposition and one-off evangelistic events serve different listeners. Filing them separately means neither gets buried, and a visitor looking for a series does not have to scroll past a decade of special services.

2.A film, a book or a news moment will send people to your oldest material

Jesus Revolution sent viewers hunting for teaching from the 1970s. You cannot predict which moment does this, only whether the old recordings still exist and are findable when it happens.

3.Re-cut one sermon for a second channel

A New Beginning is the Sunday message edited for daily radio. One recording, two audiences, almost no extra content cost. A transcript makes the same trick cheap for a small church.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Greg Laurie sermons free?

Yes. Harvest publishes his teaching free to stream on harvest.org, on its YouTube and streaming channels, and through the A New Beginning podcast. The messages remain under Harvest Ministries' copyright, so free access does not include republishing rights.

What is Harvest Crusade?

Harvest Crusade is the large-scale evangelistic event Harvest Christian Fellowship has held since 1990, when the first was staged at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Anaheim, California. The format pairs music with a straightforward evangelistic message from Laurie and an invitation to respond. Crusades have been held in stadiums and arenas around the country and, more recently, streamed online.

How long has Greg Laurie preached?

Since 1972, when he began leading the Bible study in Riverside, California that became Harvest Christian Fellowship. That is more than fifty years in the same pulpit, which is why the archive covers so much ground.

Where can I watch Harvest sermons?

On harvest.org, on the ministry's YouTube and streaming channels, and in the Harvest mobile app. Services are streamed live and then added to the on-demand library.

Is Harvest Christian Fellowship a Calvary Chapel?

It began under the oversight of Chuck Smith and the Calvary Chapel movement in the early 1970s and shares that movement's verse-by-verse teaching style. Its formal affiliation has changed over the years, so check the church's own about page for its current standing rather than relying on older descriptions.

Are transcripts of Greg Laurie's sermons available?

The public archive is primarily audio and video. Some series carry study notes or written material, but there is no complete transcript library of the kind Grace to You or Desiring God maintain. For personal study you can transcribe a recording you legitimately have access to.
