Biography

Jack Hibbs founded Calvary Chapel Chino Hills in 1990, growing it from a home Bible study into one of the larger congregations in Southern California. He came out of the Calvary Chapel movement associated with Chuck Smith, and his preaching reflects that lineage: verse-by-verse exposition working sequentially through books of the Bible, with sustained attention to biblical prophecy and eschatology. His teaching is broadcast through Real Life with Jack Hibbs on radio and television and distributed as a podcast. Hibbs has become notably active in public and political engagement, particularly around church-and-state questions in California, which has raised his national profile and also drawn criticism from those who consider that emphasis out of place in the pulpit.
